Three first-year students of Osaka Sangyo University Graduate School of Mechanical Engineering (master's course) presented their research in English at an international conference!

Three first-year Osaka Sangyo University Graduate School 's students (Yuto Kanetaka, Shogo Kobe, and Kohei Sakita) gave research presentations in English at the Advanced Technology in Experimental Mechanics and International DIC Society Joint Conference 2023 (ATEM-iDICs '23) (October 9-12, 2023, Awara City, Fukui Prefecture).
Although it was their first presentation in English, they delivered a confident speech. This time, the conference was held in Japan, and the presentation was in poster format. Unlike oral presentations, it seemed difficult for the students to explain while conversing with a small audience. However, their careful preparations in advance paid off, and they were able to successfully complete the approximately one-hour poster session. The presentation titles are listed below.

Yuto Kanetaka 3D Printing of Lightweight Composite Using Filaments Containing Hollow Particles
Shogo Kobe Evaluation of Ultrasonic Propagation Characteristics of CFRP/Aluminum Laminates Based on Wavefront Visualization

Kohei Sakita Bending Stiffness Evaluation of Honeycomb Panel with Helical Cell Structure

The venue for this event was Awara City, Fukui Prefecture, famous for its hot springs. It was about 40 minutes by the Echizen Railway (one-car train) from JR Fukui Station, and the area was peaceful, with countryside stretching out along the way. After the presentations, everyone soaked in the hot springs to relieve their fatigue. Thanks to Kanetaka, Kobe, and Sakita for your presentations!
